The Islanders

The islanders is a feature documentary about an ancient community in the English Channel on the cusp of being changed forever. The feature documentary is based on the Island of Sark, a living reminder of a simpler and older world. 3.5 miles long and 1.5 miles wide. We look into how small island life affects some of the islanders mental health, which in some cases leads to depression, anxiety, and addiction. As well as the complex tax benefits and a looming private equity investment into the island's infrastructure that could change the island forever. Leaving the locals confused and scared for the future of the island. We have a 35 minute pilot shot with a view of securing finance to finish the 90 minute feature.
